Good Morning from Wolverine Country!
My name is Robbie Winters and I am honored to be the Principal of Michigan Avenue Elementary School. I began my career in education as an American History teacher at Trewhitt Junior High School in 2000. I remained at Trewhitt (Lake Forest Middle in 2001) for the next 15 years. In 2015, I was blessed to become an assistant principal at Ocoee Middle School, where I worked closely with 7th grade students and teachers. In the summer of 2017, I was appointed the new principal at Michigan Avenue.
I have enjoyed getting to know the MAS community and the incredible students that we are blessed to work with. I look forward to partnering with our unequaled faculty to give our students the best opportunities to be successful this year. We are going to stress a few things to our students this year.
- HONOR- We want to encourage our students to live honorable lives inside the school building and out.
- INTEGRITY- We will model what it looks like to live lives full of integrity.
- EXCELLENCE- We will continue to build on the solid MAS foundation of academic excellence.
I am married to a former MAS teacher of the year, Amber Winters, and I'm blessed to have three beautiful children (Lilly-8, Luke & Holt- 5). We attend Westmore Church of God, where we are actively involved in the Westmore Choir and the iMarriage class.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any concerns that you have. We have a goal of being the best school in Bradley County as it relates to parent communication.
